I am confused to read all these above comments.Is Authorhouse self publishing company scam or real???
because the method on which they try to convince me to transfer payments for publishing my book is not understandable…. can you mention the name of consultant who deal with me from 25 days??? please reply me because personally i like authorhouse company…

My experience with Authorhouse is miserable.I am looking for the right path to recover my money from this company. I have paid about 800 USD to this company three months back.They are not responding on the progress of my book on’ammonia’. They do not respond to my mail communications. I am being cheated,and I have lost the way with them. If you/reader of this mail can contact me on above mail, I will be very grateful.

Authorhouse is the most horrible and evil publishing company in history. This scumbag Kevin Gray keeps trying to defend his fellow roaches at AuthorHouse, but the truth is that Authorhouse is a SCAM and a RIPOFF. He should be strung up and hung with the rest of the liars and scumbags that call authorshit their home.

Unfortunately, I learnt too late that AuthorHouse is toxic, and one of the nastiest scams I’ve dealt with in my life.

My hell with Authorhouse started on 24 May 2010 through a misleading website called findyourpublisher.com, which is a bogus fraud site funnelling unsuspecting authors towards AuthorHouse and their partner scams. My first mistake – I gave them my contact details. I was conned into paying them around $1000 to publish my first book which I was told would be available at Amazon. The result was a shoddy, poorly produced crappy book which no reader would waste their time with. The book is still not available at Amazon or anywhere – I just get excuses.

Authorhouse is a scam, and they have stolen my dollars and succeeded in rubbishing of my work, that has left me deflated and completely disillusioned.

AuthorHouse should change their name to AuthorScam. These fraudsters have turned fraud into an artform, and it’s time for government agencies to start taking a look at AuthorHouse and their partner companies, iUniverse, Trafford and Xlibris.

If you’re a writer reading this: this is your wake up call. AUTHORHOUSE IS A SCAM. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

Wow! Haven’t checked this blog for a while. I missed antagonizing the “whiner”. Haha!

Anyways, the thing you were talking about..what’s that again? “authorhouse complaints”? Hello?!!! Try typing all the other self-publishing, vanity or subsidy companies that there are and you’ll see that there are complaints about them being scammers, frauds and the likes. The thing that I have been trying to point out to you (and to all the other people who don’t know better) that whichever company that is, there will always be someone who is out to destroy, tarnish and badmouth the name of a competitor. That’s how business goes.

I will be glad to help you look into any of your questions about royalties. It is indeed the author’s responsibility to promote his or her book — even if it’s published by a traditional publisher.
Successful authors, who sell thousands of books, and we have many; have a few things in common:

- the book is well written and edited
- the book is marketed actively by the author
- the topic is interesting or timely

These are all factors controlled by the author; and AuthorHouse give authors complete control of their works.

I wish to clarify two things. Firstly to the ‘real’ Michael-john Wolfe, Your name is being used by the character calling himself ‘angel-of-death’ and comments which ended up with you from me were only responding to the mail address which accompanied the low mentality response I received. As it is now apparent there was a genuine mistake and I offer my sincere apologies and thank you for your reply.
To the character who hides behind the nom-de-plume of the ‘angel-of-death let me ask you a very simple and relevent question, what the hell has my dissatisfaction with authorhouse got to do with you? It is none of your business and you know none of the facts. At least if you want to become a stooge or sycophant for the cause of authorhouse at least make sure that you have the facts right !.My dissatisfaction with authorhouse has marginally to do with royalties but there is much more, very much more which includes probable tax evasion, tampering with private mail, lying and misleading statements and an overall cavalier disregard and an attitude of contempt for the clients once the money has been received. A-O-D you just do not know anything and burst in to a dispute without being aware of the facts and the dispute being absolutely none of your business.
I have a right to declare my dissatisfaction to any site to any body I want, providing it is the truth, or authorhouse could take legal action if they so wished and believe me they will not.
Write in to any search engine ‘complaints authorhouse’ and watch the pages and pages of dissatisfied clients. Wasn’t it but a few years ago that they lost a big legal case for misinforming a client and giving false information ??. There is currently a complaints list being assembled as a petition against authorhouse and the organisers expect 1000 signatures. Thats a long way from the ‘only’ 60 authors claimed by A-O-D. So let me quote your ‘common sense’. My complaint does not involve marketing of my book or sales, so again you got it wrong. Common sense is also staying schtumm when you know none of the facts.I will continue to to show my disatisfaction to any interested individuals.
