Hi,
I am a Tunecore customer. I have sold music through them and have been relatively satisfied with their service, but I do have some questions.
When selecting the stores to sell at (ie. Itunes U.S., Itunes AU, etc...) I am required to select each store individually, but when I select Amazon Mp3, there is only one box to select. My concern is that albums have been sold on Amazon.fr, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de etc..., but I never checked a box for any international distribution for those non U.S. Amazon outlets. I also know that I have had good sales on all of the Amazon outlets.
In the past, and not through Tunecore, I have had Mp3's only sold in the U.S. Amazon.com/mp3 store so I feel that I understand what a ranking of 300 or higher translates into money wise.
But while using Tunecore, I've ranked as high as 232 on Amazon.com/Mp3, so I know what type of sales that translates to, but I've also ranked as high as the mid 400's on Amazon.co.uk/Mp3, but when Tunecore pays me, the math doesn't seem to add up. I seem to only see the money from the Amazon.com/Mp3 sales and not the international Amazon mp3 sales.
I would very much like to see how the total Amazon Mp3 sales stats in my sales report are broken up for each Amazon Mp3 store. I would also like to be able to select which Amazon Mp3 store(s) I sell at (just like I get to select which Itunes stores I get to sell at).

Do you have any comments that can be posted here?
Thanks.

I would like to know how many thousands of tunecore artists don't make any money at all. you always hear of the successes, but never the other side. I'm sure there are many, how about some numbers. What did the lowest 10% of artists make for the year?5$,10$,20$.....

Hi Mz Ologist! Thanks for your comment. I am sure that someone from TuneCore will reply to this post and put your fears at ease. Best of luck with your Erotic poetry! I have an erotic poem I am working on, it starts out with "Hickory Dickory Dock..." -- now I just need a second line, any advice? Haha - just kidding!

As a new and upcoming independent artist who has mad a somewhat vast financial investment in my triple complilation cd I was having a very good feel when I came across Tunecore as another source of distribution for my Genre - Erotic Poetry enfused with Music. But after my research and running across all these accusations, I am somewhat taken aback and is now very reserved in my elation. I would not mind Peter Wells or Jake Smith or even Tia Morita sending me an email that includes a telephone number so that I can have a person to person conversation that may or may not subside my fears. Basically I need some additional information about Tunecore that will lead me in the right direction and keep me from being one of the negators or negative vibrators in these blogs and ripoff/scam reports. I dwell on Love and Positivity and Negativity is a definete sign of avoidance for me. Look forward to getting an email soon form one of the Tunecore crew. To all of you. God Bless. remember GOOD BUSINESS ETHICS RESULTS IN GOOD RELATIONSHIP AND LIFE'S LONGEVITY. Mz Ologist

Thanks for the info Peter! Although I have never personally used tunecore since I am not a musician or producer, I will say that ever since this post went up, Peter has been very responsive and willing to comment and answer questions. If you have any doubts or maybe you are interested in tunecore, you should drop Peter an email and I can almost guarantee you will get a response.

With pleasure, MJ.

We abide by our Terms and Conditions, and they're very clear: no hidden fees and never a percentage. I'm quite happy to let months and years go by, as they already have, with no "facts" coming out, because they don't exist.

We paid out $40 million to artists last year alone. They seem to be very happy. We're among the largest catalogs in the world now, and project to eclipse EMI in share by the end of the year. Somehow, the worst we ever see is an occasional citation-free mini-rant on blogs.

So let's do just as they ask and wait: we'll keep helping artists, paying them 100% of their earnings and letting people into an industry that was heretofore closed off to most musicians. Let's see if the next five years have been as amazing and happy as the last.

Thanks!
