Google SEO Experiment – Term: Make Money Online
The term “make money online” is searched between 600,000 and 1,000,000 times a month on Google. Needless to say – being on the front page of Google for this search term would garner your website or blog a ton of traffic. At the current time, my Residuals and Royalties blog is on page 39 of Google for the term “make money online“. My goal is to see how high I can get in the rankings. People like Griz, Alan Liew and Carl Ocab have dominated the front page for years and I don’t expect to get to thier level. But I would like to see how high I can get. I won’t tell you how I am climbing the search engines – but I will let you watch me. Every so often, I will update this posting with a screenshot of my current ranking on Google for “make money online“. As of today, Wednesday, November 4th – you can see my current status below. So let the experiment begin!
November 4, 2009 – Page 39 (Make Money Online) – Alexa Ranking 818,445
JUST ONE DAY LATER! November 5th, 2009- Page 29 (a 9 page jump!) – Alexa Ranking 819,210
November 19, 2009 – Page 17 (a 12 page jump!) – Alexa Ranking: 790, 990
January 15, 2010 – Page 9 (an 8 page improvement) Alexa Ranking: 905,326

Try putting “make money online” somewhere in the header.
You can use a footer link Make Money Online pointing to your homepage as well as writing a header tag with the MMO keyword. Keep it up!
