I signed up for break studios about two weeks ago. I wrote four articles so far, and all of them were accepted. My second article was sent back to edit because I did not include the title in the first sentence. So far, all is well. BS does not currently accept international workers. I haven’t received my first pay yet, but they are supposed to send it via PayPal on the 15th.

I agree with Lori. BS is a great place to write quick articles. Once I dumbed it down and stopped trying so hard, I started getting hardly any rewrites. Just wish they would add more titles!

Hi, MJ. Just wanted to update you on my Break studios experience. I made a total of just shy of $500 in May (payout should be on Tuesday for the second installment). So, I’m fairly pleased. I’ve got a total of 81 written with some still in review – their review seems to take a while, especially when pay day is approaching. I get the feeling that the site is run by just a few people but they seem to be fairly stable. I’ve only had 3 articles sent back for rewrites and they should have been. One new thing I did notice is that they have a spot on the article submission now where they ask for ‘up to 5′ online sources. This is new and, before, they weren’t as strict that you have to have online sources. But, it’s very simple to go google and find an online source (they want a .org or .gov site – no .com I think – might be making that up). Regardless, if you’re looking for quick, very easy cash, Break is the place to do it. They do have very goofy titles though, geared toward young men. I’ve learned a lot about break dancing….But, hey, it’s paying the vet bills and, with one 3 legged dog and another with a limp this morning, it’s needed (thankfully, there’s 4 still healthy as of this posting…)!

I’m quite happy with Break studios. They paid me $184 last night – in fact, they paid on more articles than I had on the schedule. I figured out how to use an excel spreadsheet to tally the articles, paydates and total pay. Working fine. I’ve written 49 articles and had one returned for a rewrite (different editor as the other articles that went through were exactly formatted the same). No problem – sent it back through and approved. I’m loving knowing that I’m getting cash for those little bitty articles as they only require 250 words. I knock em out in about 6 minutes now. Fun. Only problem is you can only claim 10 at a time and their review is sort of slow. But, hey, I consider it free money so it’s all fine with me.

I’m still writing for Break. I finally got fed up with having articles rejected and the reasoning being, “Read the guidelines.” I emailed an admin and asked what I was doing wrong…it turned out I was following the guidelines just fine, but there was a minor formatting issue where I was using bulleted lists rather than numbered, and the editors were getting sick of fixing it. Why that was so hard for the editors to say is beyond me, but since then I’ve only gotten one article rejected.

They do take quite a while to accept/reject articles, as well as to pay for them. But I have gotten paid for my work, as I see the transactions in my PayPal account. I also would get emails saying that Break paid me for such-and-such articles.

Hoenstly, I’m content with the work. Nobody will hire me to do what i was actually educated to do, so I’m shutting up my student loan lenders with Break Studios payments. Break is the highest-paying writing site I’ve worked for; I’m very used to writing for less than a dollar an article. Plus, I enjoy the relaxed style; I can talk in a conversational, humorous manner in my work.

I have written some articles for Break. My first payment was due into my PayPal account today. It hasn’t made it there yet. I went to Break to see what is up. I had an inbox waiting that stated they are having problems ‘pushing payments’ today and will update by noon tomorrow. Hmmm, not a very good start to a new relationship, but at least they tried to keep us informed.

I saw someone posted a question about tracking earnings. I do this on a Word document. I made a table in Word with a columns for the article title, date submitted, date approved and expected pay date. This makes it easy for me to see what to expect in my PayPal account.

If you write for Break, remember that the cutoff day for article approvals is 4 days prior to the pay date.

Love your webpage and great photo! I’ve been writing for Break Studios for just 2 weeks and have gotten 20 articles approved, all on the first go-around. I’m not really all that good so I’m guessing they’ve relaxed their rules. Regardless, I like writing there but Break is quite slow in publishing the articles.

I’m wondering if anyone else has figured out a way to track the earnings? I’m concerned about not getting paid for all that are approved. There’s no way on the site to tell. Has anyone figured out an excel spreadsheet or anything? I’d be interested in hearing other ideas. Thanks! Lori
