how to start a limo business - coverAs you may have read before, I was in the process of creating my first ebook entitled How to Start a Limousine Business.  I finished the body of the ebook last week and I hired an elance graphic design company to create my ebook cover and the template for the pages of my ebook.  I am very pleased with the results and my ebook is now for sale online.

I created my landing page - which you can view by clicking here: How to Start a Limo Business.  Honestly, I think the landing page needs work and I would love to get some feedback in the comments section below.  Any advice on how I could improve my landing page would be greatly appreciated.

I checked with Google’s Keyword Tool and people search for “How to Start a Limousine Business“ or other similar terms about 3,000 to 4,000 times a month.  If I could even close 1% of these prospective buyers, I would be getting about 30-40 sales a month at the cost of $25 per ebook.  This would equate to $750 to $1,000 a month.  I’d even be happy with closing 1/2 a percent of these overall searches.  I am currently on page 4 of Google for this search term and I am quickly building backlinks – it does not appear that it will be too difficult to get to the top of page one within a few months.

I am also running an Adwords campaign at the cost of only .25 cents per click.  Hopefully this will bring some additional traffic to my landing page.  I am using e-junkie as my shopping cart and I just signed up for their affiliate program so that others can sell my ebook and earn a profit of 51% of the overall sale.  This means that if you want to sell my ebook as well, you can earn $12.75 for each sale that goes through your affiliate link.  Click here if you want to sell my ebook and become an e-junkie affiliate.

All of the details that I list in my ebook are legitimate and I really do own and operate a limousine service.  The earnings figures that I claim are real and I do believe that this is a valuable resource for anyone who wishes to get into the limousine industry.  I was able to build a ton of clientele in a very short time and almost anyone can do the same.  I am eager to get my first sale and I hope that this ebook will create another source of residual income to add to my monthly earnings reports.

UPDATE: 2/26/10 – My ebook has been for online for only 2 days and I just got my first sale!  Check out the screen shot below!  Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come!

    Hi Michael.

When you say that “I am quickly building back links”, how do you do that. Actually I am seeking for some tips here.

I mean to ask that for example you have a PR 0 for your web site then how would you convince others to exchange back links?

And what other way do you create back links?

Congrats for your first sale and I hope your book will do lot better than that projected 1% of 3000-4000

Hi Saad. I use a website called ArticleRanks to get my backlinks. There is a monthly fee of $39, but I can literally create hundreds of links very easily. I write articles and “spin” them using ArticleRank’s spinning system. One article usually contains 3 links and this same article can be spun dozens of times. My average ArticleRanks article gets posted online about 50 to 150 times. Most of the links I am getting are coming from low PR blogs – but I usually have no problem getting to page 1 on Google for non-challenging keywords. If you want to get links from higher PR websites, you can use LinkVana or SEOLinkWheeler – but you will pay much more money. (I think LinkVana is $150 a month) But, this investment could be worth it if you make more money by being ranked higher.

Let me know if you try one of these services!

$39 and $150 a month. So back links require investment!!!

Are you sure that you recover all these costs through internet? I mean do you do cost benefit analysis?

  4. MJ Wolfe 27 February 2010 at 9:33 am #

Yes, I am pretty sure I will recover the cost of $39. $150 is too rich for my blood. I figure that if I am on page 1 for Google for my ebook’s main search terms, I am bound to sell more ebooks than if I was on page 7. All I need is 1 1/2 ebook sales to cover the cost of my backlinks. I am pretty confident I will cover that.

    MJ,

Very interesting! I was going to ask you the same question about creating backlinks, but you answered it so well already.

How long did it take you to write the ebook? I think over time, with more article promotion, your ebook has the potential to bring in a nice chunk of income per month.

I’m hoping to do the same really soon.

Hey – just a quick question: when you made your earnings claim in your pitch, was that gross or net? I am putting together an eBook of my own and wanted to try and see what you did.

    Thanks!

My Limo earnings are gross – after my costs of gas ($600 to $800) and insurance, advertising, etc. I take home about $4,500. Still pretty good for a 25 hour work week!

    Hi MJ,

Great blog, I got here through your guest post on Pat Flynn’s blog. Good luck to you with all of your income streams. I also sell an e-book and was wondering where you got your cover graphic made. You stated that the whole upfront investment for the site was only $88. I am looking for a good, cheap ecover artist.

    Thanks and good luck,

    Brian

Hi Brian – thanks for checking out my blog! The designer I worked with was “Gulf Coast Designers” and they are on elance. They did a great job and I highly reccommend them. My total cost for cover and page design was $80. The guy’s name with Gulf Coast is Duane, here is his link: Gulf Coast

    Good luck!

Hi MJ, I found you from Pat Flynn’s blog. I am a newbie. When you use ArticleRanks for back links you mentioned you write articles. Do those articles all have to do with the limo business and thats how you get the links?

  11. MJ Wolfe 11 March 2010 at 3:27 am #

Hi Todd! The articles are just a bunch of filler and “BS” – I just have to be sure and include the keywords that I am targeting. In other words, if I was writing an article for articleranks I would need to include whatever keywords I was targeting. In this case, I would want to include “How to Start a Limo Business” or “How to Open a Limo Service”, etc. (You can have up to 3 links per article.) More than likely I may use the limo business as a primary topic since I need to include those keywords anyway. Hope that helps!
