My Second eBook is Complete – How to Get Field Inspection Jobs
After writing my first ebook entitled ??How to Start a Limo Business? and placing it for sale online, I have started to make a few sales here and there. By no means am I making a ton of money, but I am averaging about two to three ebook sales per week. Some of these sales are affiliate sales through e-junkie and in those cases I only profit $12.50 ?? rather than the full $25 that the ebook normally sells for. Overall, I am impressed with the potential earnings that could be created by writing a multitude of ebooks.
I decided to write a second ebook called ??How to Get Field Inspection Jobs? when I did a little keyword research and realized that there might be a potential market for this material. I have actually worked as a part time field inspector in my area and I still complete the occasional field inspection every now and then. Field inspection is a great part time job where you go out and take photos and write short reports for various insurance companies, banks, lenders and construction companies. These companies will pay field inspectors anywhere from $25 to $200 to complete an inspection. A large percentage of these inspections can be completed in 15 to 20 minutes. Once you have taken your photos and completed the written potion of your inspection ?? you simply file your report and wait to get your check in the mail. You can read more about field inspection in this prior post that I wrote a while back: Make Money as a Field Inspector
I knew that there might be many people who are looking for a flexible part time job and who would not know how to get starting as a field inspector. This is why I decided to write my ebook ?? How to Get Field Inspection Jobs. This ebook will walk the reader through each step in getting paid field inspection jobs in their area. It even gives them a sample email that shows exactly what to write when inquiring with field inspection companies. I also list over 150 field inspection companies that the reader can send an email to and apply for work.
I hired the same company from elance that worked on my last ebook and they did a great job. For only $80, Duane at Gulf Coast Freelance will create an ebook cover and made matching template pages. I highly recommend Gulf Coast for any of you that may be considering creating an ebook. He should have this current job completed by the end of March. When Duanne is all done with my project, I will post my ebook’s Cover page.
You can view my ebook’s landing page here: How to Get Field Inspection Jobs
This is still a work in progress, any advice, tips or comments would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Michael-John Wolfe

Tips for the landing page – When I visited there was a lot of blank space on the right side of the page and the text was all center justified, which I didn’t find visually appealing. Bolded subheadings and justified text would definitely help make the text easier to scan.
One thing that might help with the advertising is making the page sound more ‘genuine’ (like your blog) and less like a pure advert. Lots of exclamation points and overused phrases like “make the move that will change your life forever!” would turn me off from the product.
Starting with a testimonial – how you made x amount of $ in x amount of time on a particular job – might help draw people in more than questions like “Are you tired of being stuck in an office or cubicle?” that already serve at the opening for many other websites.
All the best!
Hi Heather! I agree with you about the landing page. I wish I had better web page design skills! I will move it to the right more, I just can’t figure out how to do this! The site is hosted through Homestead, so I may have to call them. I really appreciate the tips – I kind of knew that this landing page was not the best it could be. Have a great week!

I’m in the middle of switching from iWeb (which looks great but is not functional for a blog and is terrible for SEO) to using Thesis with WordPress. It’s like learning a new language, so I know what you mean!
I believe you can buy landing page WordPress themes which may look a bit cleaner and be easier to modify.
Thanks Carrie! I think you are right – I am just terrible at using WordPress, especially when it comes to uploading templates. Woo Themes actually offers free templates as well. I am not sure if they are made for landing pages though.

Hi MJ,
Thanks for sharing your insight. My uncle has been a field inspector for years. Lots of travel but he enjoys the work.
And yes, I too am working my way through web-page development and WordPress plug-in’s, widgets, etc
Hi Ryan, yes – there can be a lot of driving with field inspection. I try to only accept jobs that are within a 25 mile radius of my house. Let us know how your progress goes with web-page development. I actually have to pay someone to help me with many of my WordPress tasks!
