May 2010 – Earnings Report

Welcome to my May, 2010 Earnings report!  While this is the first month that I have actually shown a decline in earnings from all of my sources, I still have a lot of hope for the month of June, 2010.  This month I had less time to dedicate to my various sources of residual income and supplemental income.  My wife and I had guests in from Los Angeles and I was unable to complete any assignments on websites like UserTesting.com.  If you remember last month, I earned $240 from UserTesting and I could have easily done the same this month – probably more.  It seemed I was getting offered UserTesting jobs via email many times each day.  I am hoping that I can get back to doing these in June.

As far as the positive items go, nothing really stands out - my ebook did $125 for the month, which is not too bad.  My other earners like eHow, Shutterstock, iStockPhoto all remained consistent.  On a negative note, my CashCrate earnings have simply plummeted – $65.22 is a far cry from the $182.97 that I made just two months ago.  I am not sure what else I can do to create more earnings from CashCrate.  Even though I am down almost $300 from last month, I have a good feeling about June and my goal is to obliterate my best earnings record of $1,070.45.  Also, our new iPhone app goes live very soon and I have high hopes for this one!  Below is my earnings report for May, 2010…

I took a bit of a hit last month too. My goal was to break the $500 mark, but without another $300 website to build I missed by about $200. But my residual income is up a bit. So I guess there is a silver lining.

I looked at the usertesting site. It costs money to join? Are you sure it’s worth it, or was I in the wrong place.

I’m still struggling with Cashcrate. I decided that downloading and installing the toolbars would be easier than surveys. Well, I haven’t received any money, and 2 of them crashed my system.

Oh Lord tell me the secret.
Did you get a chance to stop by my blog and check out the post I did about surveys?

    What Do You See?

Scott – UserTesting does not cost money to join. Go to the very bottom of the page where it says “Get Paid to Be a User Tester” The “price” that UserTesting is showing on the homepage is for companies who want their websites reviewed – UserTesting charges them $39 and you get $10 of that. I will go to your blog now — you may want to try something other than CashCrate if it is giving you trouble. The secret to CashCrate is referring others! You will get paid, I get my check from CashCrate every month like clockwork. Hope this helps!

Good luck with the iPhone app. Can’t wait to see how it works out for you. I’m sure it will drive up your monthly income.

I am intrigued to see how the iPhone app goes. It is also interesting to see that your income from iPhone ads exceeds that from sales – just as I suspected it would.

I myself had my best month so far – but it was no where near as good as your month. You also seem to have a diversified income which is what I am trying to achieve – over 95% of my income comes from one source at the moment!

Wow, that’s pretty good residual income you have coming in. My eHow earnings have remained in the $80 range as well.

Your highest earners seem to be focus groups and eBook sales. I was considering writing an eBook myself, though I’m rather nervous about getting started. I tend to be a perfectionist, so starting a new project is always hard for me (since I need it to be perfect from start to finish).

Your Adsense earnings look pretty good as well. Are these earnings just for this blog or do you have other blogs as well?

My lifetime goal is to make $1,000 a month with only residual income while also earning full-time income as a professional freelance copywriter. This report is very interesting and I’ll be sure to check out some of the programs listed in your earnings report.

I was wondering though, how many hours each day do you put into CashCrate or are the earnings from referrals? I’m a former CashCrate member, though stopped completing offers for them years ago. I haven’t even received my first pay check yet, since completing offers are just a huge hassle for me. I think my earnings did manage to make it to $8 though. How are you able to earn so much with them?

Thanks for your help. Keep up this blog! It’s terrific.

    Christina
