From what I found online, most users were earning more money with Vibrant Media and they seemed pretty happy with their monthly earnings.  With as simple copy and paste of Vibrant Media�??s ad code I immediately added another source of monthly residual income to my blog.  In fact, I am fairly impressed with the earnings �?? in just one week I made $7 and I expect to make almost $30 this month from Vibrant Media.  Not bad earnings for something so simple. 

I first learned of Vibrant Media through Chris Guthrie�??s post on the Make Money on the Internet Blog �?? you can read more about his comparisons between Vibrant Media, InfoLinks and other in text advertising here: Vibrant Media Review.  Chris earned about $135 in one month with roughly 100,000 page views.  Chris has tried a few different in text link advertising programs and he had the best results with Vibrant Media. 

The other good thing about Vibrant Media is the fact that their ads are very dynamic and impressive.  You can see a sample of these ads if you hover your mouse over one of the random hyper-linked words throughout my various blog posts.  When you hover over an ad a small box appears that features the advertisement and you can simply move your mouse off the ad to make it disappear.  You are not inundated with pop ups or other annoying advertising ploys �?? you simply decide whether or not you want to visit this particular advertiser or not.

One way would be to look at other blogs or websites in you niche and see who is advertising on those sites.  If you can find out the contact info for these advertisers, you can send an email to them introducing yourself and providing a link to your blog or website.  But if you plan on doing this, you�??d better have some great traffic figures that you can prove to a potential advertiser.  I am noticing that most blogs that have private advertisers in my niche, the �??make money online�?� niche �?? all have an Alexa ranking of 50,000 or higher for the United States market.  Recently, my United States Alexa ranking has been swaying between 50,000 and 70,000 �?? not quite where I need to be to attract private advertisers.  When sending emails to potential advertisers, you can include your own traffic figures by taking screenshots of your monthly visitors and providing a link to your blog’s information on Alexa.

The Residuals and Royalties blog has had over 12,000 unique visitors for the past two months �?? yet I have not received any offers for private advertising space on this blog.  This led me to pursue other options.  I have found three services that you can sign up with that will actually submit your blog or website to potential advertisers.  Below is a list of the three services that I have found�?� 

LinkWorth:  I got accepted to LinkWorth last week, no offers as of yet.

BuySellAds: I did not have enough traffic to get approved for BuySellAds

AdBrite: I have applied to AdBrite, but not gotten an approval response yet.

Even though I have applied to all three of these services, I have yet to get an offer for private advertising.  I am thinking that my visitor count is still to low �?? I know that if I had over 100,000 unique visitors per month, it would be much easier to gain private advertising.  

The other question that comes up is exactly how much to charge advertisers for ad space?  The common sidebar ad is a standard 125×125 square and I am willing to sell such a space for $50 a month with a 6 month agreement.  (I don�??t want to get locked into a low rate and then have my blog traffic skyrocket and be stuck at a certain price point.)  With a 6 month agreement, I know that I can always adjust my rates according to my traffic level.  If one of my readers can tell me what a typical 125×125 ad space sells for elsewhere – I would be interested in those figures.

YouData allows advertisers to find out everything about you and then decide whether or not they want to display their advertisments to you.  In return, you get paid from YouData for simply viewing these ads.  Theses advertisers will know your martital status, likes and dislikes, hobbies, medical conditions and other pertinent details.  This is why YouData is an excellent tool for advertisers and consumers alike.

As a consumer, you can sign up for YouData and enter in all of your information.  If there are any details that you’d rather not reveal, you can simply choose “I’d rather not say” on YouData’s list of choices.  Once you have entered all of your info, you will be able to view ads and get paid to view them – this is a unique way to make money online.  I just signed up for YouData and I made $2 in about 2 minutes by viewing the ads that were targeted to me.  I was honest in filling out my information on YouData and after viewing about 20 ads, I ran out of ads to view.  I have a feeling that if I filled out my YouData information with more medical conditions, more hobbies or more interests – I would have received more ads to view.  YouData will not allow you to go back and change your MeFile info – which is all of your profile information.  So, if you sign up for YouData – be sure and select as many categories, genres or conditions that apply to you and  your family.  I am not sure how long it will take me to receive more offers to view ads.

YouData also has an excellent referral program that pays you $1 for every person that you refer that fills out a MeFile.  The MeFile only takes a few minutes to complete – so you could easily make some good money through YouData referrals.

The best part about using Ad.ly is the fact that you get to set your own �??Price Per Tweet.�?�  This gives you the ability to start off with a lower price and then move up as you gain more followers.  Chances are, if you have a very small amount of followers on Twitter �?? you won�??t ever be offered to publish an Ad.ly advertisement.

I currently have over 700 followers on Twitter and I just signed up with Ad.ly.  I set my price per tweet at $20.  I am not sure what the going rate for tweets should be �?? so if any of my readers have sold tweets on Ad.ly in the past, please let us know how much you charge per tweet.  Also, let us know how many followers you currently have so we have some kind of perspective.

One way to increase your PPT (price per tweet) would be to obtain more followers; this can be done by following others.  In many cases, if you follow someone �?? they will follow you back.  If any one has any other suggestions on ways to increase your Twitter following please comment below. 

Big time celebrities have even begun to use Ad.ly to make a profit and you can bet that people like Kim Kardashian and Soulja Boy (both Ad.ly members) both get big bucks for each sponsored tweet they send out!  Ad.ly has attracted some major advertisers like NBC, Sony, Microsoft and Universal Studios �?? a good sign of things to come for this budding form of promotion. 

The only fear with Ad.ly is the possibility that Twitter will eventually become bogged down with advertisements.  The fact is, most people are using Twitter to get minute by minute updates from their favorite celebs �?? if these very same celebs are bombarding their followers with ads, they could stand to lose a good portion of their followers.  It will be interesting to see how the world of Twitter is affected by Ad.ly and other in-stream advertisers.
