So how does one get traffic?  You could spend time commenting on other popular blogs while leaving a link to your blog or website.  In my opinion, this is a waste of time and there is such a small percentage of readers who will take the time to visit your blog from a comment.  Unless you are making very relevant comments that really grab the readers attention – chances are slim of that reader clicking on your link.

I have found a better way to get traffic to my blog and through guest posting.  For example, my target niche for the Residuals and Royalties blog is the”make money online” niche and it is very competitive in nature.  I seem to fluctuate between page 8 and page 30 in the Google search results for this term.  That low of a ranking is no way to gain search engine traffic.

Fortunately, I have built a friendship with the blogger who sits atop the Google rankings for the term “make money online“.  His name is Alan and he really knows SEO.  Alan allows me to write guest posts that are relevant to the make money online niche and he randomly puts these posts live on his blog.  I can usually tell when Alan has posted my article because my traffic skyrockets.  Below you can see a sample graph of my traffic stats.  Can you tell which day Alan posted my guest post? 

In return, when I am writing a guest post for Alan I try and include his target keywords which are also “make money online” and “make money” – this helps him maintain his number one ranking on Google.  No matter what  your blog’s niche is – it would be a good idea to contact the top 2 or 3 blogs in your particular niche and ask them if they accept guest posts.  Be sure and ask if they will allow an anchored text link to your blog – otherwise writing a guest post without links would be a waste of time.  If you can create a guest post at least once a week, you can really increase your blog traffic and hopefully gain some repeat visitors to your blog.

For most bloggers, the financial rewards of owning and maintaining their blog usually results in minimal financial gain.  Many of us toil away doing research online for our blog postings only to have others harvest the information we provide free of charge.  Recently, I have gotten in to the habit of trying to reward the authors of blogs or websites that I garner information from.  Let me explain.

While searching for new ways to make money online and create residual income – I visit many blogs.  Usually the information that I gain is invaluable so I try to think of a way to thank the author and pass on the “karma” – which I have begun to do.  Many of the blogs that I visit have a variety of Google ads in their sidebar or in the body of their text.  Upon leaving, I simply browse through all of these ads and I look for something that truly interests me.  Then I take some time to click the link and futher investigate what the advertisement is offering.
 

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t just click any random ad to pay back the author for laying out his or her knowledge.  But I do find a product or service that I might actually be interested in and I take a moment to check it out.  If you too, have gained valuable resources from a blog or wesbite – take a moment to pass on the karma.  Visit one of the relevant ads on their website that interests you.

If you have a blog that is at least 90 days old and has at least 20 pre-existing posts, then you might want to consider
making some extra cash with PayPerPost.  PayPerPost is a website that connects advertisers who want bloggers to post a review
or information about their product.  The best part is the fact that these advertisers will pay you to post this on your blog.

All you have to do is sign up for PayPerPost and you can begin to make money online, as long as your blog qualifies.  Advertisers will give you a topic or website to review, along with the amount of words they want your post to be – typical post requests are 100 to 300 words.  Then they will tell you how much they are willing to pay you to blog, The average payment is anywhere from $1.50 to $6.50 and obviously the advertisers pay the higher rates for more words. 

In most cases, the advertisers will also want a link to their company’s website in you posting.  They will supply this link in their request for blog postings.  This can be a nice way to make some residual income from your blog.  But what if you have an established blog and you don’t want to add blogs that are basically advertisements?  Simply create a special blog that is reserved just for PayPerPost blogs.  Create this now and add twenty quality posts and simply wait three months and
you can begin getting work at PayPerPost.

This is also a great resource if you have a blog and you are trying to create quality inbound links to rank for a certain keyword, rather than use an SEO system – you can hire some “posties” (bloggers) at PayPerPost to create inbound links for you.  If you are not aware, the more inbound links you have to your website or blog, the higher you will rank in Google for certain search terms.

Overall, Pay Per Post can be a useful tool for both advertisers and bloggers and it is a great way to make money online!

I stumbled upon this website while searching �??make money online�?� in Google and Griz�??s website is one of the top two or three websites in the results summary.
