Through research online, I have been able to put together various pieces of the “affiliate puzzle” – but these pieces didn’t quite fit together.  I just could not figure out how people were making thousands of dollars a month by simply finding a niche and building these mini-sites.  Well, I finally got all of the answers – in the Cloud Living ebook, written by Glen Allsopp.  

If you look back through this blog, you will rarely see me recommend this type of ebook and I know that there are tons of ebooks that promise to teach you to “Learn the MAGIC Way To Make Money Online – Buy My Affiliate eBook Program for ONLY $59.99” – like you, I cannot stand these pitches.  Most of the landing pages for these ebooks show a “Bum Marketer” lying on a beach, sipping a Mai Tai with a computer in his lap.  This is supposed to represent how affiliate earnings can provide a lush lifestyle for you.  Once you spend your sixty bucks and read the crappy ebook, you then realize that the only one who is having the “lush lifestyle” is the guy who wrote the ebook! 

Cloud Living is different – it is a 177 page ebook that walks you through every step of how you actually can make money as an affiliate and build simple, fast mini-sites.  Glen takes the time to show you exactly what to do and how to do it.  The best part is the fact that Glen tells you his secret for getting these mini-sites ranked highly in Google for their particular keyword.  There is no fluff, no BS – just cold hard facts and useful information.  As soon as I finish my iPhone app marketing, I will be following Glen’s ebook instructions to start building these mini-sites.  This is the one ebook that finally put it all together for me.  I actually spent $37 to buy this book and I can tell you that it has been a long time since I fell for an ebook pitch.  This is one of the few times that I was completely happy with my purchase.  I have no doubt that Glen truly is earning great residual income from his various affiliate niches, in fact – Glen even shows tons  of screen shots that really help you visualize how to accomplish similar results. 

Cloud Living also has a second section on blogging, which contained some information that I already knew or have learned in the process of creating Residuals and Royalties.  But if you are new to blogging and you want to learn to monetize your blog the right way, Cloud Living will show you how.  If you are already making a ton of money with various affiliate niche websites or blogs, chances are that you may already know most of Glen’s tips that are inside this ebook.  If this is the case, it would be better for you to save your $37 – but if you are like me and you have been drooling over everyone else’s affiliate earnings, then I highly recommend Cloud Living.

I decided to write a second ebook called “How to Get Field Inspection Jobs” when I did a little keyword research and realized that there might be a potential market for this material.  I have actually worked as a part time field inspector in my area and I still complete the occasional field inspection every now and then.  Field inspection is a great part time job where you go out and take photos and write short reports for various insurance companies, banks, lenders and construction companies.  These companies will pay field inspectors anywhere from $25 to $200 to complete an inspection.  A large percentage of these inspections can be completed in 15 to 20 minutes.   Once you have taken your photos and completed the written potion of your inspection – you simply file your report and wait to get your check in the mail.  You can read more about field inspection in this prior post that I wrote a while back:  Make Money as a Field Inspector

I knew that there might be many people who are looking for a flexible part time job and who would not know how to get starting as a field inspector.  This is why I decided to write my ebook – How to Get Field Inspection Jobs.  This ebook will walk the reader through each step in getting paid field inspection jobs in their area.  It even gives them a sample email that shows exactly what to write when inquiring with field inspection companies.  I also list over 150 field inspection companies that the reader can send an email to and apply for work.

I created my landing page - which you can view by clicking here: How to Start a Limo Business.  Honestly, I think the landing page needs work and I would love to get some feedback in the comments section below.  Any advice on how I could improve my landing page would be greatly appreciated. 

I checked with Google’s Keyword Tool and people search for “How to Start a Limousine Business“ or other similar terms about 3,000 to 4,000 times a month.  If I could even close 1% of these prospective buyers, I would be getting about 30-40 sales a month at the cost of $25 per ebook.  This would equate to $750 to $1,000 a month.  I’d even be happy with closing 1/2 a percent of these overall searches.  I am currently on page 4 of Google for this search term and I am quickly building backlinks – it does not appear that it will be too difficult to get to the top of page one within a few months. 

I am also running an Adwords campaign at the cost of only .25 cents per click.  Hopefully this will bring some additional traffic to my landing page.  I am using e-junkie as my shopping cart and I just signed up for their affiliate program so that others can sell my ebook and earn a profit of 51% of the overall sale.  This means that if you want to sell my ebook as well, you can earn $12.75 for each sale that goes through your affiliate link.  Click here if you want to sell my ebook and become an e-junkie affiliate.

All of the details that I list in my ebook are legitimate and I really do own and operate a limousine service.  The earnings figures that I claim are real and I do believe that this is a valuable resource for anyone who wishes to get into the limousine industry.  I was able to build a ton of clientele in a very short time and almost anyone can do the same.  I am eager to get my first sale and I hope that this ebook will create another source of residual income to add to my monthly earnings reports.

UPDATE: 2/26/10 – My ebook has been for online for only 2 days and I just got my first sale!  Check out the screen shot below!  Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come!

One of the primary ways Pat preaches to make money online is to create and sell your own ebook.  Pat recommends that you choose a topic that you are familiar and go for it.  To be honest, I had considered writing and ebook in the past but I never really summoned up the motivation to actually pursue and complete my ebook.  Until recently – Pat just released his free guide called “eBooks the Smart Way” and it walks you through every step of creating and selling your eBook online.  I downloaded this eBook as soon as it was released and I printed the entire book and read the whole thing in one sitting.  As soon as I was done, I had the motivation to start my eBook.

In fact, my ebook is now about 2/3rd’s complete and I am going to try and follow all of Pat’s instructions on how to be successful.  I also have my domain name reserved and I have begun to build my website.  For those of you that don’t know – Pat’s primary source of online income comes from an exam study guide that he created for the Leed Exam.  The Leed Exam has something to do with architecture – don’t ask me to explain it!  This was obviously one of Pat’s areas of expertise!  You can see Pat’s Leed Exam website here: Leed Exam Study Guide

Like Pat, I am pursuing an area of business that I am very familiar with – the limousine industry.  I have owned two limousine services in the past and I now operate a one car company that nets me between $5,000 and $7,000 a month in profit.  I even worked as the head chauffeur for a limousine service on the East Coast for almost ten years.   It came to my attention that there are many people who search the Internet looking for information on starting a limousine service.  I checked with the Google keyword tool and there are about 4,000 to 5,000 searches a month on this topic.

To put that search figure into perspective – Pat’s keywords “leed study guide” and “leed practice exam” look to have over 20,000 searches a month.  So, off the bat I don’t have expectations to create the level of income that Pat has done with Green Exam Academy.  I am not selling myself short, I am just realistic in my goal – since my topic does not generate nearly as many searches.  I do plan on making a profit and I do plan on creating an automated source of residual income. 

I will be using eBooks the Smart Way over the next month to complete my ebook and put together my website.  This posting will be continually updated with my progress and once my ebook website is active – I will add any earnings to my monthly earnings report.  I am going to take Pat’s advice and hire an elance freelancer to help me create a dynamic PDF that includes a variety of helpful links for those people who are looking to start a limousine business.  I will also be using e-junkie as my primary shopping cart.  My goal is to have everything complete by March 1, 2010.

THESE ARE A FEW OF THE STEPS OUTLINED IN PAT’S EBOOK THAT I HAVE TAKEN SO FAR…

1.  Created a mind map of all of my ideas for the ebook.
2.  Written an outline for my ebook.
3.  Written rough draft of text for my entire book. (14 full pages on MS Word.)
4.  Posted an ad on elance to hire a grapic designer to create my ebook in PDF format. 
5.  Chosen target keywords and ranked them by how often they are searched.
6.  Reserved my URL for my ebook sales landing page.
7.  Begun to do a rough draft of my website landing page.
8.  Set my meta-tags for my website.
UPDATE 2/7/10 – I have just finished writing the 2nd draft of my eBook!
9. Finished my final draft.
10.  Chose an elance designer to create my ebook.  Winning bid $80.
11.  Funded my elance escrow account with $80
UPDATE 2/19/10 – The elancer that I hired is almost done with my ebook!  Once I have the PDF – I can move forward!
