If you live in an area with a lot of restaurants, businesses and major retail stores – you might want to consider working as a secret shopper for Experience Exchange. This can be a great way to create supplemental income, albeit in small amounts.

Once you sign up for Experience Exchange on their website – you will have to be accepted by doing a sample or test review of a business or store. If you are a good writer who can detail exactly what took place during your mystery shopping experience, then you will be a perfect fit for Experience Exchange.

Each week, new mystery shopping assignments are posted on Experience Exchange’s website and they are available on a “first come, first serve” basis. A typical mystery shop can pay between $5 and $25, but the average mystery shop is about $10. While doing mystery shopping won’t make you rich – it can be a good source of extra cash.

The fact that these jobs pay so low, makes it an optimal job for people with economy cars and who live in close vicinity to the store they are shopping. In other words, it is not cost effective to drive 40 miles for a $10 mystery shop – you will end up losing all of your profit in gas money. I drive a Suburban – so this is the reason that I don’t do mystery shopping jobs in my area.

Some of the higher paying jobs on Experience Exchange require that you finish a little online training course before starting a mystery shop for their company. Most of these training courses require that you never tell any store employee that you are completing a mystery shop. The goal of these companies is to get honest feedback about their store and their employees.
