The Most Complete List of Freelance Writing Websites on the Internet

Many of my readers make a large portion of their online income from freelance writing and I have written quite a few posts about various websites that pay you for your content. I have a few sources that have supplied me with the list of various freelance writing websites, but I realized that there was no place on the internet that had a full master list. I decided to set out to create the largest list of freelance writing websites and �??paid to blog�?� websites available online. I think I may have succeeded in my quest.

Three of the websites that I frequently visit to get ideas for posts are Freelance Home Writer, Freelance Writer Online and Freelance Writer Websites. These three sources are a wealth of information for anyone interested in pursuing freelance writing as a full time at home career. From these three sources I combined a list of all of the freelance writing and paid to blog websites along with a few of my own sources to create my list. I hope these three bloggers are not upset with me for using the information that they have provided to me. I am very thankful that these blogs exist to help new writers find legitimate sources of writing income.

You can see the full list on my resources page and if there are any websites that I have omitted or left out �?? please let me know about it. I would love to keep this list growing and as up to date as possible. If any of these websites stop accepting writers, change their status or are considered scams, feel free to comment below so that I can remove them from the list. On the other hand if you have had a positive experience with any of these websites you can leave a short review in the comments section. Obviously some of these websites are far superior to others and some of these pay much better than others. But, no matter what stage you are at in your writing career, you are bound to find a freelance writing website below that meets your skill level. It would be great if this post could serve as a forum for writers to leave valuable feedback on their experiences with each of these freelance writing websites as well as give samples of their earnings from each source. After all, most writers simply want to know which of these freelance writing and paid to blog websites are actually worth their time and effort.

Make Money Online Writing Articles for FireHow

With eHow�??s recent change to Demand Studios platform, many writers got left in the dust when they were unable to get accepted as a Demand Studios writer. This is unfortunate for those writers who had high hopes of building a steady source of residual income from eHow. If you are one of these eHow writers who was unable to make the move to becoming a Demand Studios writer �?? it may be time to look at other options.

There is a website similar to eHow called FireHow and the platform is roughly the same. Like eHow, FireHow has a Writer Payment Plan that will reward you with a portion of the advertising revenue generated by your articles. I am guessing that FireHow articles will not have the strength that eHow articles have had in the search engines. At the very least, if you have lost some past articles on eHow you might want to post them on FireHow. It beats having them sit stagnant and not earning any money at all.

At this point, anyone can join and write for FireHow, but I have yet to hear about an actual member�??s earnings history. I will say that their website is no where near the quality of eHow�??s website �?? but it looks like it gets the job done. FireHow prefers that all articles submitted are between 400 and 600 words and they highly suggest that you choose a unique topic. My guess is that focusing on long tail keywords in your articles would be a good idea. Also, if you are writing for FireHow you will probably need to build backlinks to your articles in order to help them get ranked.

Writing for Examiner is a Great Way to Make Money Online

Making money online can be a daunting task. There are plenty of people and fraudulent businesses out there ready to scam you out of both your writing and your time. Luckily for us, there are a number of legitimate websites out there that are looking for quality content, and some of them like examiner.com make it relatively easy to make some passive income online.

Examiner.com is a website that hosts hundreds of blogs and pays people to write for them. I write for Examiner, and after trying to make money online for a number of months, it has quickly become one of my favorite sites to �??work�?� for. That is primarily because Examiner�??s pay scale is a very attractive one.

Your income from Examiner is based on a number of variables, including how much unique traffic you generate, how long readers spend reading your blog posts, and how many comments and subscribers you manage you to get. But the earnings don�??t stop at just traffic-based pay �?? for every blog post you write that is locally relevant, you get paid one dollar up front, and you can earn this �??local incentive,�?� up to five times a week. Recently, Examiner has updated its local incentive program, offering advertisers a chance to sponsor bloggers, and giving sponsored bloggers two dollars for every locally relevant post they make.

Now, all things considered, that�??s a lot of variables potentially generating some nice passive income for you. However, perhaps the best part about examiner.com is their referral system. Forget earning a percentage of your referrals earnings; these pay schemes are interesting, but most of them only work well for someone who can manage to refer thousands of people. Instead of applying this type of referral program, Examiner pays you a flat rate of $50 for every person you send their way.

Think about it: if you were able to refer twenty people a month, that would equate to $1000 in monthly referral bonuses, on top of your traffic-based pay and local incentive earnings. Below I have posted a picture of my first payment from Examiner �?? the $72.83 I made in February is from one referral and about 10 blog posts. Nearly $73 isn�??t a bad paycheck for about four hours of my time (spread out over an entire month, of course). This means that the amount of work I had to do for this money is negligible, especially when you consider that the work I was doing was writing about something I love.

Basically, your earnings are only limited by how much you can write and how many people you can refer. The woman who referred me to examiner.com had managed to make over 12,000 dollars in the four months her blog had been active (which is legitimate �?? she had photographs of her payments to accompany this particular blog post).

In addition to their great pay scale, examiner.com makes posting to your blog almost too simple. Their text editor is one of the best I�??ve used �?? you can insert a photo, video or slideshow into your post with a few clicks of your mouse, they have an in-editor spell checker and they give you the option to link the post you�??re writing to up to five of your other posts. Once you�??ve posted your article to your blog, they give you buttons to link it to both your facebook and twitter account, something that can produce a lot of page hits in a short amount of time.

Examiner.com is a great way to make money online. One of the most appealing things about the website is the sheer number of blogs they have available. Some people have some really obscure or specific interests, but examiner.com probably has you covered. For instance, they have a blog opening for pretty much every breed of dog under the sun, along with an opening for every religion you could ever imagine existed (and probably a few that�??ll be new to you). As someone who has spent an absurd amount of time writing articles for various content mills and filling out a ridiculous amount of online surveys, I cannot recommend examiner.com highly enough.

Sell Your Articles Online with Constant Content

I started writing articles and submitting them on a website called Constant Content over a year ago. So far this website has been an excellent source of residual income. My first two months were pretty promising, as I earned $100 each month from various article sales. Then my third month I only made $60 – but admittedly, I had written less articles. If I was to submit to Constant Content on a consistent basis, there is no limit to how much I could earn in one month.

There are some authors making a decent income on this website, many of these top selling authors write for �??private requests�?� through buyers who specifically choose them for a writing project. One of the top writers on Constant Content is Celeste Stewart who has even written an e-book that details how to make the most money on Constant Content. You can view her e-book here: Celeste Stewart. To be honest, it was Celeste’s ebook that taught me exactly how to write for Constant Content and how to optimize my earning potential. Without her ebook – I would have wasted a lot of time focusing on the wrong type of articles. If you are serious about making money on Constant Content – I highly reccomend it.
On Constant Content you can write about almost any topic, but I have found that the articles that sell the best are home improvement, real estate, health and fitness, computer related articles and articles with SEO or keyword rich paragraphs. Typically articles that are between 300 – 800 words will sell the most often. Also, buyers will post public requests for certain topics and you can create an article specifically for these requests. I have answered about five public requests and three of the articles that I wrote sold directly to the requestor. One article I wrote entitled How to Find the Best Double Stroller sold for $35 for a 400 word article. Once you begin to sell a lot of articles, you may begin to receive these private requests from clients who want to specifically request an article from you. This is great because you are almost guaranteed to make a profit from these clients.

The best part about Constant Content is the fact that the amount of residual income that you create is only bound by the amount of articles you can submit. The more you write �?? the faster you will get at producing high quality articles that are suitable for sale. Articles can sell for “full rights” or “usage” – which means that they can be sold over and over again. Full rights sales can only be made once, but usually writers charge a significantly higher amount for full rights since they know they will only be getting a one time payment. Overall, Constant Content is a great way for freelance writers to make money online and choose the topics that you want to write about.

Make Money Online Writing Articles for StarReviews

StarReviews is a website that I recently found that is in need of writers to create 450 to 800 word articles. These are primarily �??How to articles�?� and like eHow and other writing websites �?? StarReviews will divide the Google Adsense revenue and pay their writers a pre-selected portion of the earnings. While it has been estimated that eHow pays their writers about 40% to 50% of the ad revenue generated by articles, StarReviews actually pays their writers a whopping 90%.

You can also write keyword based, flat rate articles for StarReviews that pay anywhere from $8 to $10 per submission. StarReviews demands excellence from its StarWriters. All submissions must be topical and 100%, completely original. The StarReview�??s editors will assist in deciding what their users want to read about and then work with StarWriters to optimize articles for maximum page views.

Triond is a content websites that lets you create your own original content and publish it on a variety of websites. No matter what your topic, Triond accepts almost all original material and publishes it on relevant websites. These websites are all part of Triond�??s online network and they will allow you to get the optimum number of views for your article. Triond�??s network is full of niche blogs with a variety of topics ranging from sports, travel, health, business and many more.

While many content writing websites want to dictate what you can and cannot write, Triond seems open to anything. Obviously, it is in their best interest to publish as many articles as possible in order to increase the revenue created throughout their network. Writers currently earn 50% of the advertising revenue earned from each article. These earnings come from display and contextual advertising that appears on the pages of your content. Payments are made each month via PayPal, check or Western Union transfer.

It seems to me that Triond puts a lot of effort in getting your articles seen. I have not yet written for Triond, but their website seems very user friendly. Make Money Online Writing Articles for wiseGEEK

Although I was a “geek” in high school – I wasn’t very wise. This fact won’t stop me from telling you how you can make money online as a freelance writer for wiseGEEK. WiseGEEK offers upfront pay to it’s freelance writers and a multitude of articles to choose from. Many of these articles are very technical and would require some intimate knowledge of a given subject. Without this knowledge, you’ll have to do a good amount of research to complete a wiseGEEK article. This is part of the reason that I do not write for wiseGEEK, since I have about the same amount of technical knowledge as Jessica Simpson.

There are usually a few hundred articles available on wiseGEEK for writers to claim and these titles can come from a wide variety of topics. Some of the topic categories included on wiseGEEK are Technology and Gadgets, Adult Education and Training, Health and Wellness, Internet and Computers, Financing and Investing, Attorneys and the Law, Medicine and Treatments, Science and Engineering and many more. You may have also seen one of wiseGEEK’s articles “What are Truffles” in the recent Google Superbowl commercial. At the very least, this shows that wiseGEEK’s articles are coming up high in the search engine rankings.

WiseGEEK just doesn’t hire any freelance writer – their editors are pretty strict when it comes to approving submitted content. In fact, each wiseGEEK writer is assigned their own editor to work with directly. This means you will get personal attention from your editor as well as quality feedback. Writers get paid between $10 and $14 per article depending on the topic, any article that you accept will be premarked with the payment amount. Payments are made via PayPal.

The best part about writing for wiseGEEK is the fact that you do not have to wait until the end of the month to receive payment for your articles. Once you have submitted a batch of five or more articles – you will usually receive a payment within 2-3 days. If you take some time to read the writer testimonials on wiseGEEK’s website, you will see that there are many satisfied writers who truly enjoy creating content for wiseGEEK.

This is one stipulation you will have to consider if you want to write for wiseGEEK – you will be expected to submit at least five articles per week or twenty articles per month. In other words, wiseGEEK wants it’s writers to continually be creating articles on a weekly basis. If you don’t have the time to create five quality articles per week, chances are that wiseGEEK is not for you. But if you can write the expected twenty articles per month you will be looking at about $240 per month in supplemental income. (20 articles x $12 per average article = $240) This extra income would make many people’s car payments for sure!

Make Money Online Writing Real Estate Articles for Escape Homes

Escape Homes is a real estate website that is looking for freelance writers to provide articles on a variety of real estate topics. They are offering $20 for original articles of at least 300 words. Escape Homes would be a great place for writers who have knowledge of the real estate market, property management, investing and home improvement to sell their work. But you need not be a licensed real estate agent to submit these articles to Escape Homes �?? if you have experience buying or selling a home, renting a property or even doing home improvement, you can write about it.

Escape Homes currently has a list of available topics that you can choose to write and they also allow you to submit some of your own article ideas. Articles about specific real estate locations and regions are also acceptable. Escape Homes is looking for articles targeted toward three focus areas: real estate are investors, retirees, and vacationers.

You can also write what is called an �??Escapetown�?� article; An Escapetown is a written summary about a town, city or region. The Escapetown consists of three parts. The first is a short postcard from the area. The postcard should be a compelling account or humorous inference about each area. The next part of an Escapetown is the area description, housing and weather information. The last part of an Escapetown is the factual information set. This section will include population, economics and any other useful information.

I have always found that real estate articles are some of my favorite to write. Even if you need to do some research for your topic, most of the information that you need is readily available online and can easily be put into your own words. Make Money Online Writing Articles on Xomba

If you are someone who has Google adsense ads on your website or blog, yet you rarely see any substantial income in from these ads – you may want to begin writing articles on Xomba. Similar to HubPages, Xomba allows you to create any type of content that you want to publish. Obviously, this content must be your original material. Once you post your content on Xomba – your article page becomes laden with a variety of relevant Google advertisements.

The hope is, that people searching the internet will stumble upon your Xomba articles page, read the content and leave through a Google adsense ad. If this takes place, you get a share of the adsense earnings. I am sure there is a low ratio of clicks on most Xomba articles at first, but the more articles you can create – the more clicks you will garner.

You can also write Xombites or Xomblurbs – which appear to be shorter articles, also full of Google ads. Since these consist of much less content, you should be able to generate a larger quantity of these Xombites or Xomblurbs in a short time. As with HubPages, to succeed on Xomba – quantity is king. I am sure that it would also help to do some keyword research and target some keywords that have low competition.

Under the Xomba testimonials page, one Xomba member claims to have hit the $2,000 mark in Xomba earnings. She also mentions that one article alone earned her $90. Many of the Xomba testimonials tell of writers who only earned a few cents their first few days on Xomba and were ready to quit. These writers stuck with it and wound up making some good monthly residual income. Make Money Online Writing for Break Studios

If I have one online addiction, it would be my time spent each day on Break.com. If you have never visited Break – you should put aside some time and check it out. While I will say that their website is geared more towards a male audience, anyone can find enjoyment in the thousands of funny videos on Break. Each day a new lot of videos go live on Break’s homepage and many of these videos consist of people falling, getting hurt or doing stupid things. I’m not sure why this is so funny – but it’s usually hysterical! If someone went through the millions of videos on YouTube and only selected the funniest videos and put them on a website - this website would be Break.com.

The same people who brought us Break.com have now added a writing division called “Break Studios” and I just put in my application with them. I looked at most of the available topics and many of them are geared towards men and men’s issues. I am not sure if many women would want to write for Break Studios – but if they did “relationships” looked like a big category when I was signing up.

At this point I don’t know how many articles are available to claim or how long these articles are expected to be. I also don’t know what Break Studios is currently paying their authors. Hopefully, if I am accepted – I will be able to provide more details. If any of my readers currently write for Break Studios – please let us know approximately how much you earn per article and how many topics are available to claim. Hopefully, this will wind up being a good way for freelance writers to make money online!
